ARTIST STATEMENT
“My goal since discovering photography in the 1970’s has been to use the camera as a means of expressing my inner feelings about the world around me and my place in it. Everyday objects, organic material and the theatre of the streets have offered me endless opportunities to engage in the act of picture making and I can’t see that urge leaving me as long as I can lift a camera and click the shutter. My digital art evolved naturally from experimenting with my work in Photoshop. This started with simple image manipulation and led to montages, mandalas and eventually purely abstract works that rely solely on the relationship of colour and form. Regardless of the medium I am engaged with I prefer to work intuitively, allowing an element of chance to influence the outcome of any individual piece of work.”
